Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Officers report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.
The substance had been placed in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Police then found multiple other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police state early analysis show the liquid was probably human blood.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the event," they added.
Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
A high-ranking representative stated the attack left him stunned and needed to be addressed promptly.
"This act affects the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
